Twig was more capable than she let on, her eagerness to assist had blinded Morgan to her skills. it made it all the more impressive when she succeeded though. the other woman would finish off the doe, though the piebald didn't really notice aside from the scent of blood. it was enough for the cougar to pause, saliva dripping from its jaws onto Morgan's face. yuck. she pummeled the beast's chest with her claws, grasping wildly as it pinned her down and hoping to get the upper hand in some small way. Twig's bark also distracted it long enough for Morgan to throw it off her.
the cougar landed a few paces away, bleeding from the stomach and neck. it hissed at the two wolves threateningly, stalking around in a circle. every so often its eyes would stray to the deer corpse. "fuck off, this is our food!" the piebald snapped at the cougar, not knowing if it understood or not. Morgan was also bleeding a bit, but she had some shallow scratches and nothing quite deep enough. now that Twig was back with her, the cougar seemed to consider taking on both wolves at once. it began to back away, still spitting.
the piebald woman darted toward the cougar, aiming a smack against its snout with a large paw. the beast flailed, crying out before turning away completely and running. hah! coward! Morgan smirked, watching its tail disappear into the brush before turning back to Twig. "we sure showed that kitty!" she laughed despite her exhaustion.
