He'd never been the best at paying attention to what was going on around him.. or at least not as much as he should be, if he was being totally honest. He was fully focused on fishing, and hardly noticed the approach of another until it was too late. Moments like these made him wonder if he really was fit to be a Blackthorn in Abaven - what if this was an enemy? Plenty of familiar wolves were here, so maybe he shouldn't worry so much... but when he finally noticed someone nearby, he appeared visibly startled, twisting around with widening eyes.
But.. she didn't look like she was trying to do anything wrong. Just fishing, like him? He narrowed his eyes, watching her bound away with the fish she'd caught, returning to shore and digging at the sand to find a spot to put it. He forced a more friendly expression after a moment, twisting around completely to face her, offering a polite smile - though it was a small one. "You - uh - doing the fishing derby too?" Corvus asked awkwardly, regretting the question as soon as he'd asked it. Of course she was. Duh."I'm Corvus," he added as an afterthought, though he was pulled away from speaking by a flash of color near his paws, as he leaned down to snatch up another fish before it got out of his grasp.
