ever since Chrysanthos had found him, Thaddeus had been watching the young man work. the Olympia pure-blood was a healer; he fixed people. he fixed wounds. he fixed lots of stuff. he found it a bit fascinating someone could make shit-all out of plants. plants tasted like shit to begin with, so it was both confusing and interesting. he'd nose around the plains restlessly, trying to find something to bring back to his apparent savior. he wasn't grateful to the pure-blood; he was indebted. he knew his place as much as he hated it.
the wounds over his body had not healed completely, and he had snuck away out of the pure-blood's sight to get some time to himself. Chrysanthos and his fuckin' monkey-lemur thing were always there. applying more paste to his sunken body and making sure he ate and had water. Thad was feeling at least a bit better, so he left the patient den and went to explore. even he didn't know why he bothered to bring something back to the young man. maybe deep down, he just tried to help repay him. maybe deep down, he was grateful his life had been saved.
Thad didn't expect to run into anyone here; he was close enough to Olympia to sneak back in whenever he wanted. but for now, he'd continue to nose about and sniff for some sort of plant his sister had taught him about.
