The cat hissed, its fur raised and ears pulled back, eyes fully dilated making them appear like black pools. Segar snarled and stepped forward, his own hackles raised, claws sinking into the earth as he prepared to surge forward again. With a mighty kick off the ground he pounced on the cat, his fangs sinking into its belly as it snarled and hissed, striking at his face and eyes. His fangs sank into the cat’s flesh, blood pooling in his mouth as he lifted his head, the cat still coiled around his face, and slammed it into the ground, his grip never waving or faltering.
The cat yowled as its spine hit the ground and struggled to escape but Segar held it too tightly. With his grip still tight Segar shook his head violently, dislodging a chunk of flesh and hide before the cat fell to the earth, panting and reaching out to sink its claws into the ground with pain. Blood flowed freely from the wound on its belly while Segar stood poised and ready to finish the feral animal off, his head lowered as bloodstained fangs parted in a low growl. The cat hissed again, weaker this time and breathed heavily on the frosty air, its hot breath visible to the naked eye.
With another snarl Segar rushed forward again, gripping the cat’s head in his jaws as it spat and clawed at his lips, the cat’s hooked fangs caught on the black skin, tearing away flesh and filling Segar’s mouth with his own blood. He shook his head, hoping to break the cat’s neck but the cat’s grip prevented its body from being violently jostled. It lifted its paws and smacked into Segar’s face until he was forced to pull back and return to Hannibal’s side. Thin scratches marked his face, and his lips had been split by the assault he looked frightful and heavily battered as he stood by Hannibal’s side, panting with pain.
He looked at the cat who was too furious to die and charged forward a final time, seizing its neck in his jaws and crushing it, killing the cat in an instant. His legs shook as he held his quarry and looked at Hannibal with tired eyes before he brought the cat to him and laid it down at his paws. “For you.” He muttered, feeling the adrenaline leave his body and exhaust him.
