Forgetting how to breathe
Solor children

Solor knew his heart was broken, to the point where no breath came without pain. He had lost his will to live, despite the beautiful children he had fathered. He didn’t want to be here, not without her. She had been the reason for his living for so long, that he had forgotten how to function without her. He had joined Abaven to be beside her, had learned healing to understand her craft. He had nothing of his own, wanted nothing of his own.
His chest hurt, and he knew that he was dying. He could not eat, nor drink, and rising out of bed was a struggle so intense he was not certain it was worth it. Not without her, never without her. He knew he should feel something, some remorse, some pain, for leaving behind his children, leaving them without a father. He knew Shaye would adopt them, and raise them as her own. They had that, they didn’t need him. Nobody needed him, now that she was gone.
