Gavroche’s green gaze widened as she spoke. She… wasn’t the goddess? But… how? Why? Surely she was just confused? His jaw parted to protest but words failed him… and Houdini grumbled as she had to step in. “Forgive me… my companion is clearly still a child that believes in silly things like the Gods and Deities…” Her tone was clearly disapproving as she ran a paw over an ear. Gavroche felt his heart leap into his throat as embarrassment flooded through him. His ears lowered against his skull and the boy gave a soft whine. “I-I…” He faltered, backing away. “I’m sorry…” His gaze fell to his paws. He felt like an idiot… and Houdini scolding him hardly helped. His posture suggested submission and a downfallen mood. “I’m… uh… Gavroche Kedieo…” He still didn’t meet her gaze. “Forgive me… Miss Adravendi…” |
