I gave up hoping some miracle would set me free

Kaveh took comfort in the soft touch of her tail on his back. It was good to have someone there with him, to know someone was listening. It had always been hard for him to tell other wolves his problems because he had always felt like they were his burdens to bear, but Kiki was such a wonderful listener than he felt comfort instead of shame from telling her. He nodded with a grateful smile at her offer and then waited patiently for her to tell her story. The earthy brute listened attentively, his gaze never wavering from her form. A soft smile touched his muzzle while he was listening to her tell about how their adoptive mother found them, but that smile quickly got swept away as she continued. His expression shifted to rage at the news that she had been raped, immediately wanting to find the bastard and rip him limb from limb. Her words pulled him away from his brief murderous thoughts as she continued on about her sons, concern crossing his gaze. He knew how it felt to be the pup in this situation, wanting to protect his mother from harm, wanting to be the man of the family. It was interesting, hearing it from the mother's point of view. Is that how his own mother had felt? That he shouldn't have to take care of her? What caught his attention the most and blew him away was the fact that she thought no brute would want her since she already has children. He wanted to deny that as soon as she said it, but he held his tongue so she could finish, ending her story with an apology much like he had. He wanted her to look at him, to lift those lovely two-toned blue eyes up to his again, but they stayed firmly on her paws. His gaze was one of concern, the rage he felt toward the brute that had raped her still hiding just behind it. "This isn't your fault, Kiki," He told her firmly, his voice gentle yet strong enough to show that there was no questioning it. He gently lifted her muzzle with his paw so that his eyes could see hers again, his expression serious, but calm. As he spoke his paw lowered to the ground again. "The only one to blame here is the brute that did this to you. As for your son wanting to protect you, they mean well. Speaking from experience, they're just trying to step up and do what is right. It just shows how much they love you that they're willing to do that. And brutes not wanting you because of you already having children... That's just not true. If whoever it is can't love you because of your sons, then they clearly don't really love you. And yes, your sons will leave one day, but kids always have a way of finding their way back to at least visit from time to time." He smiled gently, his tail gently brushing her back much like hers had done to him. "It's alright to be scared. Change is frightening. But it's something that has to happen sometimes. She was such a sweet fea, he just couldn't imagine what would bring some lowlife to want to hurt her like that. In the end though, it sounded like she had raised three lovely sons so it turned out alright. His smile touched his pale green eyes as he looked at her kindly. He wanted to help her feel better, but he wasn't sure how to do that. He hoped at the very least his words had put some of her fears to rest. Thought Speech Others |
