he never really stopped to admire the scenery before him. then again, he wasn't one to really stop and smell the proverbial roses. the lake was withering due to the autumn season, and soon it'd be a sheet of ice probably. what was ice? well, he didn't exactly know. he also didn't know the west was too humid for ice at times and places. even in the fabled winter. which was totally soon. Wolfpaw Lake though... this is where their den was. Ma always said it was temporary, that they may be moving soon. he couldn't imagine that.

Godbrand tumbled out the den, bumping into Gimli first and then racing to Beryl's side. his little brother was already asking questions about making something. his own ears piqued when Ma said they could 'keep it'. keep what they crafted? what nonsense was this? didn't you sell the stuff you crafted for a quick buck? isn't that what trading was all about? but he was too young to make sense of a confusing thought for long. "I'm going to make you something, Ma!" if Gimli wanted to make himself something, then Ma was gonna be left out.

that won't do. he'd make her something cool too.
