Valdís had taken a risk and swam out to the island that was near the basin. It was a short swim thankfully but the results had been disappointing. The island was indeed green but it was from the sand and not from any of the plant life. There were a number of shrubs and a few trees but most were brown and gold and there seemed to very little that was edible for prey. She sighed. This was going to be a rough winter, of that she was sure and she was starting to wonder how they were going to feed everyone. She took a swipe at a nearby brush in frustration. She needed to release her pent up energy but she wasn't terribly keen on another swim.
