Alien In A Strange Land

Yesubai grew up in an environment where one did what they were supposed to or what was acceptable regardless of how they were feeling. So, even though she felt sad and disheartened she couldn't bring that out to let the white she-wolf see. However, there wasn't much she could do about the feeling in the air. Yesubai knew that she herself could sense it but she didn't know if Song could.
Yesubai could have guessed that her vague answer to her first question wasn't going to satisfy Song but, there had always been a hope that it would have. However, her next question wasn't overly personal so Yesubai didn't feel uncomfortable sharing about the land that she had come from. "Is beautiful. Always warm. Large pack I come from...very safe...plenty food." Yesubai replied with a smile and warmth in her voice. She didn't want to bring up the horrors that went on in the pack, pity wasn't what she was looking for. Instead, she decided to focus on the positive things that went on and happened there. Perhaps it was better that way for her in the long run to not dwell on negativity.
However, the mention of food had reminded her of how hungry she was. She would need to hunt soon. She would have to bring herself to take the life of a rabbit or something else. Kishan had always been the one who hunted for the pair. He was a better hunter than Yesubai had ever been. Growing up, all the food she had needed was always brought to her. She never went hungry before now. Of course she was taught how to hunt when she was young but rarely if ever had to put it into practice. She would need to remember and remember quickly before long or she would starve.
