it was time to move on and like promised, he was going to wait to leave. it did not make much sense in the long run; he did not owe anyone an explanation as to why he had even been here aside from Deathbelle, and she already knew he was going to leave. but she requested to speak to him before he left and he would probably do anything for a pretty face like her's. returning to the den he had seen her last at, he called softly at the entrance but did not enter. he felt as if he was intruding and did not care much for that emotion. it wasn't the first time he had noticed the children with her. she was still heavy with their attention, raising them seemingly alone. the empress had little heirs running amok. Hemlock stepped back, mindful of personal space after what happened last night. for all he knew, the pups would cascade out of the den as if a river, overwhelming him. he wasn't exactly great with children. he was awkward in that regard. perhaps if they were his own, he'd feel less so. but right now, he wanted to avoid them. stifling a yawn, he sat on the sandy ground and merely waited. he wondered what Deathbelle wanted with him before he left. maybe she just wanted to make sure he left for good. ah, and here he thought their conversations were going so well.
