Zee saw Dea's overreaching agreement in assistance as a smokescreen, believing her words had unsettled the woman and she only was trying not to let it show. The mother chose a child without hesitation and Zee held back a smile as Sirius moved to intercept. Zee did not doubt that Dea would not fight him for his choice in child to hold, and so she lifted her head to project her voice louder as she spoke once more. "That one your favorite, huh?" She remarked, gaze drifting to observe the other two pups who their mother did not volunteer to carry. "I suppose every mother has favorites, even though they do their best not to admit it." She gave a small smile to the boys, stepping towards the darker one to prepare to carry him. "I'll take this one, I'll bet his resemblance to Archon makes him hard for you to look at." Just because the mother was a traitor did not mean the children had to be; she'd sow what doubt she could and work later on winning the pup's favor in Ashen's name. "Speech" |
