As the giant brute sat staring at her, she paid him little mind, or so it seemed. A lazy smirk on her face, Iolaire cast gold and beryl eyes about the area, taking in all that there was to see. Situational awareness was a gift that she had already taken for granted once today. Thank you, sleep. She saw everything while pretending to not see him. Only when she was sure that others weren't near did she bring her gaze to focus upon the massive beast and his... massive beast. "Impressive creature." With a subtle pull of her skull, she indicated the perching avian. Iolaire wasn't a fan of birds unless she was eating them, but she definitely appreciated the sleek, black feathers of the vulture.

When the man spoke of having met stranger wolves in stranger places, Iolaire released a soft chortle accompanied by a light shrug. She didn't doubt the truth in his words. She too had met strange wolves in stranger places. She had simply made a vague, ice breaking statement to instigate conversation. And it had worked. They were talking. Conversing. Getting to know one another. Were they not?

A curious gleam lit the woman's gaze aflame when he admitted that he called her out because he hadn't wished for a threat to sneak up on him. Practical. She could relate and understand. Dainty skull pulled downward three times in a quick nod. "A wise course of action." She gave a compliment where it was due. Iolaire wasn't too proud or full of herself to give compliments and praise. She found that to be a virtue. But... was it a virtue if you believed it was your own virtue and you took pride in it? Hmm. Oh well.

Eyes cast downward and Iolaire's eyes narrowed as a green beetle scuttle over one set of snow dipped toes. It was then that the man made his offer of a 'meal.' Whether that meal was intended to be her or a genuine kill, she didn't know. Best to react with humor and wit as always. With her opposite paw, Iolaire swiped, sending the beetle skittering through the grass to her left and his right. At the same time she chuckled, lips pulling back in a slight grin to flash pristine white teeth. "Thanks all the same, but tiny things like me don't eat very much. I'm afraid I'm full up."

Tucking that thick, grey and white tail comfortably around her opposite hip, Iolaire released a slightly dramatic, contemplative sigh. Canting her head to the side, she arched one brow. Soft, smooth tones broke free once more. "So what does the world call you? King? Emperor? Warlord?" Skull tilted in the opposite direction. "Surely a beast so mighty must have some worldly title." That grin tugged at the corners of her maw. It was obvious that she was poking at bit of friendly fun at him. "Though a name would do just as well."

"Speech"

Io has a dwarf caribou companion and a snow leopard companion. Assume they aren't with her unless stated otherwise.
