Valdis

Tyrian approached the captive liar warily. He didn't like being made a fool of and he'd felt foolish for not recognizing the signs of a trespasser when they'd met that day. Still his feelings towards the woman didn't outweigh his curiosity. He'd spied her weirdness from a distance and been intrigued by her slow and deliberate movements. It was likely he wouldn't have approached had not Valdis done so first. Seeing the confident warrior woman approach settled it for him. If she could so could he.
The boy abandoned his place under the shady, drooping arms of a forsythia bush and trotted after Valdis. He hung back as she asked her question and then, because Valdis was squarely between him and Amaretto, leaned far out to his left to peek around Valdis' rump and cocked his head. Maybe if this was interesting he'd get closer. For now he was content to keep his distance.
