Corvus was slow to respond to Theory's call. Returning to their homelands should've brought him more joy than it did, but all he could seem to focus on was how much had changed. The normally dangerous rapids had slowed to a trickle, and he heard his father's warnings to keep his distance from the dangerous waters echoing in his head. Now his father was gone, and the rapids looked safe enough to toss a newborn pup into - the change wasn't something he welcomed ,and he quietly found himself cursing the smallest things that had changed as he trudged through the plains. The grass hadn't begun to grow back as thickly nor as greenly as he remembered, and even the sun seemed dim and drab overhead. It was easy to blame his dark, irritable mood on the volcano and everything it had done to them, but deep down he knew his grief over Shaye's passing was what was gnawing away at his spirits.

He snuck in on the tail end of what Theory had been saying. Corvus had no opinion about where they should go. A selfish part of him wanted them to go north, far away from the volcano. Fuck their home and all the emotions that seemed impossible to separate from this place. But he knew moving so far away with so many young wolves wasn't a good idea and he wasn't about to suggest it, no matter how badly he wanted to. Instead he was silently, his uncertain gaze drifting over the group. Though he briefly considered moving to sit near Twig, his brother caught his attention and his pace picked up slightly as he closed the distance between them. He refused to let Aiden slip away again. His protectiveness seemed visible as he moved to sit alongside his brother, not hesitating in wrapping his head around Aiden's shoulders in a somber embrace.
