The rising chorus of howls - both strangers and Legion wolves - brought Torrent's head around to stare intently in that direction, hackles rising silently. That was an alarm. The border had been breached. All fighters who were in pack lands would be expected to answer it if they could to repel the invaders, since they didn't have any noncombatants to protect now that Rhythm had returned to Abaven, but Torrent hesitated. She didn't really think she was ready to fight for real, not yet. She'd just get in the way. Part of her recoiled from the idea of answering that call, and it wouldn't be a hard sell to say that someone needed to watch the other borders in case it was a distraction from a larger invasion... She shook her head once sharply, dismissing the cowardly thought. Where had the fearless goddess she'd once been gone to? Her confidence had been shredded seasons ago, but she didn't need to be confident to do what needed doing, and her brothers would have been ashamed of her for even thinking it. Her father would be ashamed. She was an Imperialis, wasn't she? They didn't run away, whether they were ready for battle or not. Asriel's pale, blue-eyed form moved up beside her like a ghost, and she took a deep breath. Right.
As silent as the snow leopard, she moved up into a lope towards the call. Her eyes swept the tableau intently, picking out the forms of the Legion wolves from the intruders. Interestingly Tyr stood beside Chaos to lead the pack - she blinked expressionlessly to see Sparrow beside him at the forefront of the Legion wolves - and Alarr with his own companions among the pack, armored and ready. Torrent moved up beside him, silently pressing her shoulder to his (with care to avoid the spikes on his harness), holding herself to her full height in order to better study the invaders. Her slender yearling body was held tense and ready, and though initially she'd been uncertain she was prepared for a fight the sight of strangers daring set foot in their boundaries woke a rage that blazed in her chest and made her tremble with the need to break ranks and fight - a need that she suppressed, for Chaos hadn't yet given the word to attack.
