No dawn, no day

Kirsi was quiet as she moved through the pine forest, weaving between the trees with ease. It was early morning, just after dawn - the sun had begun its steady ascent above the horizon and was casting a soft pink glow over the grey sky. It was quite the sight, even if most of the view was obscured by the trees towering overhead, and for a long moment Kirsi allowed herself to pause to enjoy the scenery. Part of her was tempted to retrieve Song from their shared den to join her in watching the sunrise, but he was sleeping soundly enough that she'd feel bad for waking him. Ah well. He'd be around later. For now, she wasn't totally sure what she wanted to do; the world seemed still and quiet and for now she was content to enjoy the peace. It was a far cry from the type of morning she would've once labeled as ideal but Kirsi was adaptable, and as her circumstances changed.. well, so had she, at least on the surface. A content sigh fell from the small woman's lips as she padded on, ears swiveling as she listened for the sounds of anything out of the ordinary, half-certain she'd heard someone's approach. |
