Rhyme’s recovery from heartache was slow, he was so focused on himself and his own sorrows that he hadn’t noticed Eulogy’s scarcity. The fact made him realize how useless he had been to his poor daughter and the pack. He was dragged further into depression, but his hallucinations disappeared when he fully accepted the loss that they all had to suffer through. He tried not to dwell as Theory called them together. This was a time for celebration. Poem was returned to them and the pack was recovering slowly.
The once alpha was subdued as he approached the gathering. Imperia and Solitude were much more vibrant as they took their place next to their children and took up their own instruments. The mood of the music was light as they tried to shift the atmosphere.
Rhyme did wear a rare smile as he observed his daughter’s embracing. He was glad to see his nephews and niece make an appearance. He just couldn’t overcome the feeling of the missing presence.
He tried to look around for his biggest supporter as emotions threatened to overwhelm him. Samara became his lifeline, were it not for her he might have perished too. Having her beside him grounded him and helped him to focus on the future rather than the difficulties of his past.
