Banshee admitted to wanting to learn gardening and general mending. The young woman had seemed a little hesitant and withdrawn at first, but admitting that she wanted to learn brought a smile to her face. Iolaire returned that smile with one of her own.
"Darling, I'll teach you anything that you want to know. My mind is open to you."
With a pull of her shoulder, she motioned for Banshee to follow.
Up the hill she went, headed towards the top of the garden steppes so that they might look down upon its curling entirety. There were a great variety of herbs, vegetables, flowers and fruit.
"As you learn, anything that you need, feel free to take. I only ask that you help to care for the garden in return."
She leg the girl into the garden and pointed out a few weeds.
"The lines of important plants are fairly evenly lined. Most little things like these are just weeds."
Digging her claws into the earth, she scooped the weed out of the ground, roots and all.
"They need to be removed from the area entirely, lest more weeds grow."
Climbing back up the hill, Iolaire moved beyond the garden and pond to a slightly smelly mound of dirt and debris.
"Compost pile. Things go here to rot. It gets turned periodically. This is used to add extra nutrients to the soil for plants that have a high metabolism."
She often threw entrails, fish heads, and other various biodegradable things upon the pile. All of the weed clippings went in as well.
"Follow me so far?"
She cast a glance towards Banshee, one silver brow raised in question.
"Speech"
Io has a dwarf caribou companion and a snow leopard companion. Assume they aren't with her unless stated otherwise.
