Venom dodged his strike narrowly, responding with a swipe towards his cheek with her paw. He felt her claws rake across the thin flesh and a small sting beginning there and then for some reason radiating towards his eye. He paused, reeling back and taking a second to lift his paw up to his cheek. The strike had not gone near his eye, so why did it feel like it did? "Ow." His head shook, trying to displace the odd feeling and stop the offending eye from tearing up. When he looked back at her, Venom had shifted position so they were no longer head to head.

Azure crouched low, growling at his opponent as she moved to his side. He curled his body away from her with his eyes not leaving her face, beginning to circle her cautiously. It was starting to occur to him that his blind and thoughtless attacks were not getting him anywhere, whenever he assaulted another wolf they always struck back harder using his attack against him. This time, he'd wait and let Venom come to him so he could counter her instead.
