count on me

With each passing day the pup only grew more and more and with time Astor began to grow much more curious of the world around him. He was a brave soul so staying close to his den wasn't really part of his daily routine anymore. Each day was filled with a new adventure, one that he was keen on having fun with. Of course he still stopped in to see his cardinal friend and she was just as beautiful as ever. She would sing to him every morning, which he had grown quite accustomed to, and on days where he felt lonely or sad she seemed to just know. She comforted him when he needed it and he was thankful for her, even if she still hadn't flown down to greet him just yet. Remarkably Astor had enough patience to let the bird do it on her own terms, he didn't want to scare her away, not after they had developed this bond between one another. It was unspoken but it was there. Regardless though today was a day for a new adventure and so the pup was up bright and early. He ran past the trees, long gangly limbs extending as he climbed over fallen logs and stopped to sniff a few patches of flowers. He only wished he had someone he could play with today! |
