Hmm...it seemed he had struck a nerve. Whether it was telling the kid to run back to his mommy or practically insulting and hinting about the incestual relationship between Shaye & Rhyme, he didn't care. He was ready the moment the boy threw himself over the border. As Desolate came charging at him, Ares took the opportunity to completely face him (a bit off-center) and lowered his head, knees bending to bring him slightly closer to the ground while his hind legs coiled beneath him. He snarled, elongated fangs exposed as much as possible as a fierce sound escaped his throat. As Desolate slowed and sought to wrap his right leg over his neck, Ares' legs uncoiled and launched him forward, seeking to smash the point of his right shoulder straight into the joint of that raised leg in the hopes of dislocating it or...at the very least, leave behind severe bruising and straining. Whether he succeeded or not, his movement would cause Desolate's foreleg to slide off him with minor scratches while his bite would miss Ares' face. Ares would also attempt to return the savage favor. Using his momentum, he partially rose and twisted his head in towards the boy's right ear, fangs glistening as he sought to grab hold of it so that he could rip and tear it, seeking to wrench the ear completely off Desolate's head.
