Both women picked at their meal, but they knew it was better to eat what was given. They didn’t know what kind of future awaited them and the next one might have been days away. Rava was a frightened wretch but she wanted to live. She had a little fight left in her, and so ate without complaint.

Saia made herself comfortable but Rava was too tense, she could settle down in relative comfort but there would be no sleeping. The girl pulled her limbs inward as she settled onto the dark earth. Her cloak obscuring her entirely she took comfort in the familiar feeling of the fabric against her. Rava couldn’t take any comfort in Saia’s words, she didn’t know anymore than Rava did, and she seemed much less worried. As she mentioned, this transition was no new experience for her.

Rava quieted, a soft sigh slipping from her dark lips as she lost her focus on the now empty platter. She wouldn’t sleep, but the edge of her anxiety seemed to fall as her belly was filled and she knew for certain she would remain here for an extended period. At least she was dry, and had good company. Someone she could begin to trust. ”Yeah…” She offered in agreement quietly as she rested her head on star striped paws. There would be no sleep until she passed out of exhaustion. Who knew when that would be.
