Birds of a Feather

Things had finally calmed down enough to get her out of hiding. She had fled from Abaven after the volcano struck, and she hadn't gone back since. First the fire, and then the volcano...surely Abaven's lands were cursed, weren't they? Never again would she live somewhere that was close to a volcano, or somewhere that had a good chance of getting caught up in flames. Her face had remained twisted and marred after Abaven's brush fire, and while she finally accepted that she'd never look the same again, she was still very much self-conscious about it. In the span of four years, here she was. Her face scared and living life alone. Though she'd been lurking at the edges of a nearby pack, she had yet to go and find out more about them. She was used to being alone at this point, distancing herself from others ever since her appearance had been drastically changed.
For now though, she figured she ought to stay hunkered down among the bird-filled willows for just a bit longer. She doubted anyone missed her. Well, maybe except her family. Nobody had really gone looking for her after the eruption, after all, and so she figured it was best for her to never go back. While she did hope her father and siblings were well and safe, she decided she was better off just ghosting around on her own. She felt like less of a burden to them. After all, who would want to be associated with an ugly creature like her?
