Motif came forward, anxious and weary. She knew she wasn’t ready for this, and she wished she had had more time to prepare. But it didn’t matter, she would fight for Poem, for Theory, for Shaye and this pack. She stopped at the outskirts of the battle, tilting her head to send off a little whisper to Shaye, asking for luck and strength as she did what Shaye would have wanted of her. To fight for what she loved.

She stepped closer to the fighting wolves, catching a glimpse of Theory already in her battle, and Poem, who seemed still to be searching. Motif didn’t want to wait, and risk her nerves giving out. She picked an opponent, a yearling who didn’t look too far off in age to herself. Perhaps they would be closer matched, but maybe not. Motif really didn’t have much training.

“Uhh, Hi, I’m sorry” Motif murmured gently to the other wolf, before diving in and aiming to hit her taller right shoulder against the other woman’s left-side of her neck. Using her superior weight in her initial move.
