Greed saw him coming, and Desolate did not have time to adjust his approach before the other male spun on him. Their chests collided and Desolate gasped at the feeling in his lungs. Unfortunately the momentum he had from his sprint worked against him, and he knew the bruise would linger for weeks. He couldn't allow himself to get too distracted from the pain, and as his opponent's jaws widened to try and contain his muzzle Desolate ducked low. While he had many times been disadvantaged about being smaller then the wolves he sparred with, the slight difference in height this time around could allow him at least to keep his face as far from those sharp teeth as he could. He reached forward as he ducked, knowing that the adjustment would leave his scruff and neck vulnerable but preferring a grab upon either to one on his muzzle. The yearling aimed to land a bite of his own upon the wolf's fleshy upper leg, hoping if he could secure a hold and twist that he may be able to temporarily disable his opponent long enough to come out on top.
