He watched her carefully, watched her determined expression, and careful setting of her stance. She was determined to do her best, and he appreciated her for that. The Armada desperately needed warriors, and he could see Tamsyn standing up against her past and rising in his ranks.
He watched the bunching of her muscles, and the beginning of her attack, as she launched herself forward across the warm sand. He braced himself, digging his paws into the earth, and waited for her attack.
She went for her leg, as they had practiced, and clamped her teeth upon his flesh. She pulled and he granted, and shot his head forward, aiming to graze his teeth against her departing forehead if he was able to.
