Kai had been an interesting acquaintance and Rhyme had easily become fond of the man. He’d offered Rhyme unique introspection that he might not have gotten without meeting the man. He was glad to see him healthy, and maybe felt a little hurt that he had joined Winterfell instead of Abaven as he had not so subtly suggested. Though he was briefly reminded of the why of Acere’s raid. Was Kai the slave that had been traded for? ”It’s good to see you again, too.” He grunted as Kai shook his head to rid Rhyme’s bite.

The once alpha didn’t use any excessive force, first because he liked Kai. The man seemed respectable and Rhyme enjoyed his presence. As they moved together Kai’s well placed flick of his head had caught Rhyme’s jaw with his tusk. Rhyme called out as his head was forced up. With all the ferocity that could be conveyed in his feet Rhyme tried to release Kai and claw at his neck and chest to make him back down.
