Lantern in the Dark [Domari, Caelia, Cairo]

It was time, past time, for this trip. Aurielle sat on the northeastern end of the wall, gazing out over the miasma of the moorland within, a gentle smile upon her features. With her sat Ayodele and Loshir, and a light saddlebag.

Finally, gently, she howled a summons to Domari, Caelia, and Cairo. There was a very special task to undertake ahead. She’d been sure to inform them all the prior day that they were off sentry duty for the night last night, so that they would all be rested now, here at the crack of dawn, before the sun even woke.

Her slender muzzle lowered, the call fading into the dark-grey morning as she waited. With her light, she was an easy to find beacon, drawing them to herself.

As she waited, she contemplated with a smile the feats these particular wolves had accomplished. Cairo and Caelia had brought down a trespassing lion together. And now, just the other day, Cairo and Domari had defeated and killed not one, but two aggressive lions in the Rocks. Domari had long since surpassed his rank in experience and skill in both Fighting and Hunting. It was time to honor all three wolves' hard work.
