Lantern in the Dark [Domari, Caelia, Cairo]

He’d been curious as to why Aurielle had told him and Caelia to take last night off. She hadn’t told them anything beyond that, but there was a sense of anticipation he just couldn’t shake. He was still sort of thrumming from his and Domari’s fight with the lions, but he did manage to sleep.

He was already stretching awake by the time his Spirit’s call filtered down the den tunnel into his alcove. He stood up so quickly he clonked his head on the ceiling with a shower of dirt, scrambling into his armor as quickly as he could, struggling with the bracers before he pelted out of the den, not sure where Caelia was, but sure she’d catch up.

Aurielle was easy to spot, even at a distance, and he veered her way as soon as he laid eyes on her. As he came to a stop below her, he looked around, curious about the early morning call. She was armored and had a traveling saddlebag, so they were going somewhere, but where?
