It's okay if you don't like me; not everyone has good taste

Raelyn Valestrom
Far from home. That was the female's first thought when she washed up on this wretched island after the calamity. Her beloved, frosted, homeland had been struck with a type of earthquake that shattered the ice burgs and plunged them into the frozen sea, taking a great many of her tribe with them. Including Rae. It was a terrifying fate to be falling with the ice into a bone chilling water, nearly escaping death as she fought the pain to get back to the surface. Panic and adrenaline would be the only excuse as to how she survived, that and utter stubbornness. She clawed her way onto a decent sized hunk of ice and floated into the ocean current where she would stay for... weeks? Months? Time was as lost to her as her sense of direction.
It wasn't until the ice had all but melted that Raelyn caught sight of solid land, though, looking back on it now, had she known just what a complete burning pan this area would be, perhaps she would have stayed on the shrinking ice. It was hot, even if the ocean breeze somehow managed to reach the briar, it was still a baking oven compared to her icy tundras. But the winter dam made the best of her situation, as she always had, and carved out a nice den out of two slabs of rock. The thorns and prickers were an absolute pain, but manageable if a wolf knew where to put their paw. Thankfully the female was of long legs and slim figure, making it somewhat easier for her to navigate the narrow routes through the thicket.
What was the worst of it all was the lack of attention the woman required. It had been so long since she had last seen an intelligent creature, that even the ever so distant song birds were becoming a welcomed sound. It had dawned on the woman that perhaps she had actually died in the frozen sea, and this was some sort of hell devised punishment for her.. provocative ways. It would not surprise her in the slightest, and if she was going to be completely honest about it, Raelyn did not regret her actions at all. Her ideals remained the same, and no amount of time in a heated, isolate, thorn populated hell would get her to change her mind.
