Save it for another time

Katir perked up when she saw the entrance of Borias, lifting her head up from its position on her paws. She didn’t have much to do these days and that bothered her a little. Being a slave all of her life it bothered her when she didn’t have anything to actively do for someone. She interacted with the other slaves a fair amount, but it didn’t bring the same appeal as serving. Borias was the only masters she had really known so the idea of serving someone else scared her a little. She didn’t know how to hunt or defend herself so venturing out on her own was also a pretty scary thought, that was one of the reasons she stayed where Borias wanted her to.

She gladly moved to eat the rabbit, the more slaves that Borias kept the less they all got to eat since he was the only one doing the hunting. So food either way was a blessing. She trusted him to provide, but sometimes it worried her. He commented on the weather as he settled in the room. “The cold is nice.” She replied to him before she thought of a question. “Is it hard? Having to hunt for everyone?” She didn’t question her situation in life, but she was willing to question why he would make things hard for himself. Harder than was necessary at least
