The approaching tread of paws pulled her ears back, and she turned her head to study the stranger who approached in an almost shy manner, deep blue pools wandering his form. She turned slowly, daring to put some weight on the injured leg, to feign that it wasn?t as lame at the moment than it was. Strength. The eyes were gentle, but there was that inner steel, and she let some of it glint under the surface for him to note. However, she shifted the plants in jaws gently to the side to allow clear speaking. ?I?ve been better, but this leg will heal over the next week. I?m a healer, so it?s in safe paws.? Ears pulled forward, then one backward to listen for any others approaching. Deep down, she knew Cormalin had noticed her prolonged absence, and would be sniffing her down soon enough. So she studied the stranger quietly, without fear, taking in what strengths he had, and his posture. Surreal did that tilt with her head a great deal, when she was curious, or puzzling out a lesson. The male was pale, with molten orange eyes. His tail swung in an open gesture. ?So what brings you to the Emerald Valley?? Her voice was hushed velvet, accent being a mixture of British and Highlander, giving it a pleasant lilting quality. A healer?s voice. Soothing, lyrical, gentle. Wise. She'd seen a great deal, and been through a great deal in her life. |
