The fray seemed to close in around them, a blur of moving bodies, a symphony of snaps and snarls as the warriors clashed against their newfound opponents. The earth pounded rhythmically as Plague took up the chase behind her. She would've bet anything she was a quicker sprint than the male, but there simply wasn't enough space for a straight-on run for either of them. Not for long anyway.
Abruptly, Malalia slammed her forepaws into the earth and whirled around in a complete about face, pushing off with all four paws to slam into him. With her hindlegs now to the rear, Plague's jaws would slam somewhere along her upper foreleg instead. She would hunch her shoulders forward, protecting her own neck while her jaws opened wide, snapping around to wrap around the junction between his neck and lower jaw. This wasn't a hit and run. She would clamp down as hard as she could, pushing off with her hindlegs to stay in his space, if he tried to pull away. Her left foreleg would wrap around behind his right, partially to stay the limb from striking at her, partially to try and keep him there.
