Daggers of pain struck her upper foreleg, but didn't last for long as her opponent released his grip. And suddenly, Plague's skull was slamming upwards. The forward lurch from pushing back on her hindlegs, as well as the displacement caused by Plague's own shoulder pressed against her chest, made sure that the move wasn't as devastating as the male had intended. The blow landed just above the junction of her throat and right shoulder rather than entirely on her windpipe. But damn if it didn't hurt, and a snarl of pain managed to slip out of her maw.
She didn't waste time. As soon as his skull made contact, she would be twisting her muzzle downwards to clamp her jaws around the base of his neck. As Plague stretched upwards to make the blow, she could more easily move her front. Malalia slid her left foreleg up and over, in an attempt to hug around his neck and secure her hold on him. Her right shoulder would rush inwards and upwards, under Plague's chin in an attempt to seal his jaws together, should he try and reach for her neck. Her hindlegs would press back firmly against the earth, pushing her against him.
