Mortis laughed, an easy, friendly noise, and his tail wagged behind him. No doubt Killian would know the boy hadn’t meant it. He was going to give Killian his best, but he expected the older wolf to put him down, just like his father always did.

When the fight began, Mortis did his best to put himself into the right mind-frame, chasing away the laughter, and bringing up the seriousness needed for battle. His attack on Killian would land on his chest, bringing the two into close combat. The snap of the boys wings barely seemed to make him wince, but Mortis would not be deterred.

Killian was pushing against him, and Mortis flared his wings for balance, his feet spread out for balance, and his fangs would aim below the older wolfs left ear.
