Why's the sun so bright?

Octave had dug out his den to be bigger than he needed by himself, big enough to comfortably fit another large wolf further in than where he usually rested. But when he woke up he couldn't help but feel like it was a little claustrophobic, the shape nestled at his side was much to big to be Noko. At first, his sleepy brain was still a bit too groggy to understand what had happened, and then the events of the previous day rushed back into his memory and Octave's eyes snapped open, swinging to look at the tiny man laying on his nest of furs.

A soft gasp escaped his lips as he realized exactly what had happened, and he craned his neck to see if Noko was awake further in the den. He tried to shuffle slightly but then realized his limbs were solidly under Kite so he was quite stuck. Octave stared wide-eyed at the man, very much unsure what to even do. He could hear Noko stirring behind him and silently prayed she'd rouse quickly so they could figure out what to do together.
