She gave him a friendly lick back, and he beamed up at her, all but vibrating from the excitement of taking on something new. He was tempted to also poke at the snake and take a bite, but he was politely giving his grandma his attention first. He paused when she started to speak, and his ears and tail would visibly drope. He hadn’t seen it striking at him, but it was Resin, and he knew if she said it then it must be so. His father had drilled into him how much he needed to pay attention to his surroundings. If he missed something as big as this so easily, then he clearly hadn’t been paying attention. He didn’t protest when she lay down, and pulled him close. Instead, he sat in the crook of her arms, as he could with very few wolves now. He was just too big. Even with Resin, a giant of a woman, he didn’t fit easily. He folded his wings in tightly, and let her nuzzle against his ears. “I’m sorry Grandma Resin, I didn’t mean to. I just wanted to help.” he explained. |
