Her teeth missed him, and he pivoted neatly on his hind paws, pushing off to ram forward into her right shoulder with the breadth of his chest, sidestepping the swipe of her steel claws as his jaws dove for the top of her neck, aiming to snatch the scruff once more.

Meanwhile, Aello spotted an opening. Malalia seemed focused on the wolf, and the white she-cougar suddenly bolted forward, aiming to sweep a paw – claws sheathed of course – under the young wolf’s hind legs and knock them out from under her as Regulus made his move for the girl’s scruff.

Artashir held back, watching. It would be good experience for the girl, fighting someone with companions interfering with their attacks and defenses.
