Swiveling her ears towards the sound of his voice, she listened thoughtfully. It was a slightly different kind of storytime than she had initially pictured, any and every pack member welcome to tell their tales from myth to real life to somewhere in between. She understood, a little more, why few attended. A pup chasing a leaf monster was... not the most thrilling thing in the world, she had to admit. Still, that was only her preference. The would-be tradition still sounded lovely to her.
"You should help bring it back," she offered. "Maybe offer some treats. Tell a few tales of your own." A single green eye opened to fixate on her companion. "Don't tell me no one wants to hear about Mister Lion Killer over there," she chuffed.
What she had said was growing ever quiet, words mumbled as she toed the line between awareness and unconsciousness. She would say no more, falling silent to listen to Cairo's low hum, drowning in the sound. With the man's soothing voice and the gravity of her own exhaustion, the world faded away. Her breathing gradually slowed, and finally settled as she drifted into sleep.
