Malalia Fatalis

The corners of her lips dipped in a light frown at his words. So it wasn't as cut and dry as she'd assumed, then. Malalia didn't know about the inner workings of the family before she'd been adopted. If Zee really did favor Mortis over their brother, and Sirius was as pliable as Azure suggested, he had a point. Mal just didn't believe he was. "Why begin a whole competition between you two if you didn't have a chance? Seems like he's already willing to go against her."

Then, she shrugged. "But hey, fair enough." Maybe he was right. She trusted that he knew Sirius better than she did, at this point, though she quietly retained her doubts.

If she would read the boy's thoughts, she would've been sorely disappointed at his opinion of his mother, though. Sure, anyone could be anyone else's weak point. But to believe that she was less capable, less worthy of respect? She would've laughed for days had she not been so busy chewing his ear off about how wrong he was. Mal might not've had many encounters with the woman, but Zee was formidable in her own right. She had to be, to lead the Armada with their father.

She raised her brow points when he spoke of pushing his brother off of a cliff, and held his gaze for half a heartbeat. Amazing. Incredible. And not at all surprising. "You know, you're an edgy little shit," she finally chuckled, her tone halfway between humorous and incredulous. She was shaking her head in answer. Ohh, what a mean thing to do, but Azure probably knew that as well. She was curious, though. Maybe the boy was evil incarnate. Maybe it was just a stupid prank. "Why?"
