Escaping the Chill

Winter had not been her most favored of the seasons, for more reasons then just one. She wasn't the biggest fan of the cold, not that she would outwardly complain about it. The snow and ice was a pretty sight, but she just didn't prefer the cold. She had been down and out for a while from being sick, but now that she was better the young female felt the itch to get away from the pack for a little bit. She had never really done any solid exploring after her and her parents returned to Boreas. Every time she would get comfortable enough something would happen to throw a long drawn out curve ball into things. Her pack had it hard, but even after the recent raid, they still came out strong.

Her pace was hurried as she pushed herself through the last bits of snow to get to this place. She had been here once before and knew it would be ideal to go on a day like today. The springs kept the area warm, and the snow was very rare here. It would be a perfect spot to be to get away from winter itself. Once she hit the damp grass she shook the snow from her fur and let her baby blue eyes scan the surrounding area. At first she didn't see anything, which was okay. She decided her first step was to warm herself up by the springs, then maybe some nosy exploring around this area until she grew bored of it. Trotting over to one of the springs she settled down beside it, the warmth making a happy shiver run up her spine and a grin to spread across her face briefly.

Lowering her muzzle the young wolf would gently lick the access moisture from the fur of her paws in hopes of them drying off quicker.
