"Aslatiel Fatalis"
As the rough waves of winter battered the black beach, twin purple eyes, the color of nighttime galaxies, watched while seeing nothing at all. Aslatiel was deep in thought. Her young life was in a state of turmoil and she was yet again out on her own, trying to make some sense of things. One brother hated her. Her father adopted a new daughter. She couldn't fight this urge to kill everything in her path. There was just a lot to deal with. Too much for one so young. When the pale woman traipsed along in front of her view of the black beach, Asla blinked. The action made her eyes ache and she only then realized that she hadn't blinked in quite a while. Ugh. After a few more blinks, the girl pushed herself to a sitting position, poking up over the rocks that she'd been nestled between. One brow arched curiously as she watched the woman inspect the waters. Did she think she was going to find some food just washing up with the waves? Fat chance. If anything did wash up, it would have been long dead and not worth eating. If she tried to go fish, the waves would sweep her out to sea or drag her under. Hmm. Should she watch or intervene? A few moments later, the small girl padded forward, dark ears flicked forward. "If you're looking for food, you'd have better luck looking elsewhere." She flashed a confident smile. "It just so happens that I know exactly where you might find a bite. Follow me." Without waiting to see if the woman would follow or not, Asla padded off down the beach towards a set of tide pools that she knew were hidden nearby. Things were usually trapped in the pools at various times of day. Though the waves were up on the beach, the pools were hidden back a ways and so there was likely something edible within. |
