The wolf before him seemed a quiet sort. It was true that when they crossed paths - mostly at meetings or during training - he found Dunkan to be a quiet presence. Perhaps he was driven to fight and learn more then he was to socialise. Mortis could understand the impulse, but knew his life would be dull if it didn’t have his friends. There was a reason he met with every new wolf to come to the pack. He wanted to meet everybody. “Oh, that sounds like a good challenge. Are you looking forward to it, or are you nervous?” he wondered, after hearing the others explanation of what Sirius had set before him. Mort wondered, if he hadn’t been put into the race for heir, would he be in a similar position as Dunkan now? Preparing to challenge a warrior. |
