He chuckled in response to her words, though his ears flicked back in slight puzzlement as she added that Sirius didn’t exactly encourage travel. There was a small tidbit of her past given, that she’d been wandering before the Armada.
“One can learn so much from travel, though. And meeting new wolves. Although, my first time to the Hot Springs, I met two wolves. There was a yearling called Skyfire and another wolf that I think was from Ashen. But… Well, Skyfire.” His lips pulled into a faint frown, a rare sign of displeasure and irritation.
“She was rather… hm. Rude. Conceited… Announced herself as a princess from distant lands, you know, that kind of pomposity. Aurielle mentioned she’d joined the Armada. She turned up when Aurielle came to the border, though Rielle had met her prior and set her straight on her behavior.” His lips twitched into a grin.
His Spirit hadn’t gone into detail, but he could guess the girl had been pinned in place by the disappointment Aurielle could convey when stamping on bad behavior. The girl wished to become a Queen one day, and yet had behaved as though those of common blood were meant to admire and worship the royalty. Of course, if Skyfire intended to take on leadership lessons with the glowing Spirit, as it seemed she’d taken a shine to Rielle, he supposed he might end up seeing the girl again at some point… he couldn’t say he relished the thought.
At her question he grinned. “Ethereal. I’ll have to show you the place, I think. It’s like meeting Aurielle for the first time—best to be experienced in the flesh than told stories about… but it’s like looking down on an ocean of clouds and mist. You’re so high up that the air is very thin, so the journey up through the passageways should be taken slowly, with breaks to adjust. It’s where Aurielle promoted myself and my sister and another—the wolf I fought the two lions with.”
