Once more for luck

Magnus' smirk remained as the boy taunted him back, knowing damn well he wouldn't need carried back by Sirius should this fight end up lacking in his favor. He'd carry himself back, even if it took days. He had that much dignity, at least. Even if things worked out for Azure today, Magnus wouldn't let him get anything else out of it, and he was damn sure that he'd be back to bury him later, unless Azure dug himself that shallow grave already by the time he'd returned of course.

His smirk however quickly changed into a scowl as he braced for what was to come. The boy was hulking like a bear, but slower than an average wolf due to his size and that somewhat gave him an advantage by way of preparing. Burying his paws into the frigid snow to brace for the impact, he quickly lowered himself to the ground to avoid slamming into it and knocking the wind from his lungs and settled himself deep into it, protecting what he could. He'd never fought in snow before, but he hoped it would do well to hide the tender parts of his flesh, protecting it from the savage claws and teeth the child bore.

His tail rose in an attempt to protect his spine as best as it could stretch, or even to distract the child into attacking it instead of his exposed back. His focus was almost entirely on reaching to snap at the boys jewels while he could, hoping that grazing his prized possessions would distract him long enough to spring back up and toss the child off of him while Azure's weight was balanced on only his hind legs.
