The sky above was overcast and dark as waves crashed against the shore. It didn't take a genius to figure out that a storm was on the horizon, a big one from the looks of it, but Hanako thought nothing of it as she wandered along with her eyes shining bright with awe. With her Keepers she'd travelled across many lands and terrains but she'd never seen anything quite as idyllic, as though it was pulled right out of a daydream. The sand was soft and squishy beneath her orangey paws and for a moment she felt a sharp pang of worry when she realised that if she wasn't careful she'd mess up her coat. Her Keepers always made a point of reminding her to be well groomed and presentable, like the lady she was. She glanced over her shoulders, left and then right, half expecting to see Sander rushing over with a displeased scowl on his face. But she was all alone and had been for a little while. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if she....
Lost in her thoughts Hanako didn't notice that the waves were drawing closer and closer, rolling up the beach as the tide came in. And then a wave much larger and faster than those before rushed up the shore before she even had a chance to dart out of it's path. She yelped in surprise as the water sprayed over her, drenching her legs and underbelly. For a moment she stood there, mouth agape and eyes wide with shock. It was cold! The initial shock soon faded and Hanako found herself grinning from ear to ear as she broke into a gallop, charging forward into the water till she was up to her knees. She splished and splashed about, lost in her own, wet little world, not realising that the waves were getting rougher till one particularly strong wave almost swept her off her paws.
