Peaceful Solitude Accompanied by Work

Actaea Praetor

With spring the landscape came to life, plants flourishing with the warmer temperatures and the snow beginning to melt away from the landscape. It was a prime time for a healer like herself to begin restocking her stores within her den. To aid her was Boris, the small stature Boar that had become one of her companions. She had taught him what to look for and he was good at shoveling away snow, dirt, or brush that may be in the way. He was also her pack mule and carried a pack on him that would carry anything she would gather along the way. Since she had been traveling a little over a year she was pretty much starting from scratch on her storage den so there would be a lot of gathering she would need to do in order to fill it.

She had left the pack lands in the early morning and had headed straight for the red forest, making a few pit stops along the way as she had come across some herbs she was looking for. When the pair arrived in the forest they split up hoping to conquer and gather more in this way. Boris knew what to look for and if either of them needed one another their calls would be loud enough to reach the other. It felt odd not having her companions by her side, but in some ways to her it also felt rather peaceful, lightening her mood and making her have a bit more spring in her step. She almost felt like a child again, roaming alone without limitations and anything holding her back.

She would even gently hum as her molten gaze scanned the area around her and her movements were slowed so that she wouldn't miss seeing anything. When she thought she saw something she would stop and carefully study it, some plants she carefully dug up, others she simply moved on from.
