Daelos hadn't noticed the project Ochre had been working on at first because her attention was so entirely captivated by him. She remembered seeing her mother and Elias together after they moved to the pack that Elias ran and at the time she couldn't comprehend how her mother could be so dedicated to him when he was so obviously troubled. Now that she had experienced love herself she could understand how blinding it could be, but she was lucky enough to fall for someone who was incredibly caring and loving in return. Perhaps her experience with Elias had made her more selective and careful with who she eventually chose as a mate, but she was incredibly happy with her decision to spend her life with Ochre. She grinned and leaned into his touch when he nibbled at her ear and wrapped his foreleg around her shoulders. She nuzzled into his neck again and pressed an affectionate lick to his cheek in return. It wasn't until he mentioned ruining his surprise that she actually looked away from him and saw the den that was in front of them. Daelos blinked with surprise and a huge smile spread across her muzzle. The playful swat he gave her rump made her giggle and give him a light-hearted glare, but she was too eager to see the work he had been doing to take the time to retaliate. The healer ducked into the shadowy interior of what would be their new home and she looked around with awe. "You did this all on your own?" she asked as she walked over to one of the walls and examined the work he had done reinforcing them with slender branches and trees. She followed the length of them, seeing how he had secured them with vines. She knew her mate was quite handy, but this all far more than she would have ever expected him to do on his own. Daelos turned around to look at him again, grinning from ear to ear and tail wagging happily. "This is amazing, Ochre! This is going to be such a good home for us!" she exclaimed as she came back to him, nuzzling her cheek into his. There was more than enough room for the four of them and... perhaps more if fate ever decided to bless them with more additions to their family. She had been content living in the alcove among the caves that Aurielle had offered to them, but this was so much better suited to them and their family. The location was also perfect for her to go out into the moor to find more herbs, but wasn't too far away from the meeting area in the plains either. "I can't wait for the girls to see this, they're going to love it," she instead, leaning back again to give Ochre another happy, loving smile. |
