Hanako leaned into his touch, grateful for the support. It didn't seem to come naturally to him but the fact that a prince, someone who's social status was so much higher than her own, was willing to stoop down to her level truly made her feel important. Like he'd chosen to give her special treatment because he thought that she was worthy, deserving of it and more.Riding on that high Hanako remained faithfully by Azure's side as his Father entered the scene. And it was then that she realised that the title of Warlord described him perfectly.
From what Azure had said she expected him to be all stern and serious, the sort of leader who ruled with an iron paw. But then he spoke and his words were calm and casual, reaffirming that the Warlord didn't see himself as a king and that Hanako shouldn't treat him as such. Instead, she waged her tail at him in a wolfish version of a wave. It was a fine line to walk, being friendly and approachable but not too overzealous as to leave a desperate, needy first impression. But like a well trained acrobat, Hanako crossed the proverbial tightrope with ease, as though it was natural to her as breathing. She could be whatever Azure needed her to be, all he needed to do was point her in the right direction.
"I'm Hanako." She introduced herself before Azure could, a subtle show of her lack of respect for him. Hopefully he wouldn't mind too much, she'd apologise later either way, just in case. "Azure told me about your pack and I was wondering if you have space for me? "
That seemed about right, nice but not too kiss-assey.
"I'm not a fighter." She admitted with a shrug, being completely honest for once. If attacked she'd sooner turn tail and run then try to defend herself."But I'm quick on my feet and ready to put the work in to be part of your pack. "
She wasn't exactly telling the truth, as this wasn't the arrangement she and Azure had come to, but given the circumstances it seemed like the right thing to say. She'd never worked a day of her life so far but she supposed it wouldn't hurt to at least try. Besides, how hard could pack life be?
